Bad VARTYPE while reading Siemens S7-1200 tags

Hi community.

 

Does anyone can give me a hint on why am I getting  "bad VARTYPE" as the item value on the Quick OPC Client whenever I try to read a tag on a Siemens PLC S7-1200 over ethernet.

 

It is suposed to be a number

"Bad VARTYPE"  just means that there is bad quality for that designated tag. Seeing  "Bad VARTYPE" in the QuickClient is common and can be caused by numerous possible issues.  The Event Log in the KEPServerEX configuration can be helpful in diagnosing the problem. Some of the more common issues are closed/blocked ports, firewalls or bad tag addressing. Typical troubleshooting will require opening a support ticket with the Kepware Technical Support team so files can be transferred back and forth to complete the troubleshooting process.
