A very important property of natural water - is its buffering.
We reset the natural body of water (river, lake, sea, ocean) acidic waste water, and the pH of the water is almost unchanged.

This is a nice example. I wish you would post it as a Document in the ChE space. The Discussion area is so huge that it is almost of no use for browsing, only searching. Also, the Document area is a better place for finished examples than the works in progress usually found in the Discussion area.
