PTC News Update: PTC Acquires Onshape

You may have already seen this in your own favorite business news sources, but, here, at PTC, we are excited to grow our community of cad users with the recent acquisition of Onshape. Onshape is a computer-aided design (CAD) software system, delivered over the Internet via a Software as a Service (SAAS) model.

What does this mean for our own PTC Community? We are business as usual in our PTC Community operations, but I encourage you to head on over to the Onshape Forums to learn more about this latest, great addition to PTC’s portfolio of software products.

PTC will definitely begin to explore ways to collaborate with Onshape on a wide range of activities including cross promotion of community and user group meetings.

I read through all 126 posts. For good or for bad, PTC definitely has a reputation. It will be interesting to see how Onshape is integrated and if their customers end up sticking around.
