Auto break centerlines in drawings

I have a user that is asking to have centerlines automatically break when passing through an item in the drawing. Is there a config option that will make this happen?

I know you can manually break them in a few different ways but in this instance, we use 'Show and Erase' to create the centerlines.

I've never heard of such a thing. In decades of use I've always had to manually add breaks to centerlines, section lines, leaders, etc.

I have never either, but they swear it used to do it automatically.
