Animate/simulate injection mold

Hello,

I would like to animate the movement of opening and closing a injection mould. Please see the attached pictures for presentation.

I always make the slider connection beetween gray and green assembly. No problem here.

  1. Assemble the gray part-defatult
  2. Assemble green part (moving half) – SLIDER connection.
    1. Axis alignement- big holes on both parts
    2. Rotation – front surface ob both parts
    3. Translation – top surface on gray and bottom surface on green
  3. Assemble the red part (slider) –2 x SLIDER connection; can be seen on picture 2.

The problem is this: How to limit the slider (red color) movement in x direction, without also limiting the moving half of the tool (green color)? The problem is, if I limit the slider (min and max value), than i also automaticly limit the green assembly...

Maybe my approch is completly wrong, I am not sure. The goal is to put motors and make a simulation of the movement of opening and closing the tool. Can somebody please advise me?
