Best practice for UDF annotations shown in a drawing?

Creo 7.09.0

I have some new UDF features (.gph) that are used as subordinate UDFs and placed on multiple designs in part mode. I have created model annotations in the UDF reference parts (.prt). The UDF geometry works as intended but I am struggling to automate the detailed views on the drawings which are repetitive in nature. I want to set up one set of annotations in the reference model and then show them in a detail view on a drawing without manipulating the location of the annotations shown every time I reuse the features.

Combination states are not portable through a subordinate UDF from the reference part used to create the UDF, so that did not work.

I have also considered importing a detail view from the UDF reference part but that creates a new drawing sheet and is not a good option IMO.

I can show the annotations embedded in the UDF as they do come across into the target models but must manipulate the spacing etc. after showing them in a drawing in any view, not just detail views.

Has anyone come up with something better than what I am describing for subordinate UDFs shown in a drawing?

I hate to think that the old school workaround of creating a symbol of the detail view is the best option for full automation of this.

This question makes me think of the issue of the sketcher dimensions never staying where they are created -  see Sketcher dimensions that stay put!

It seems PTC has fixed that issue...  Maybe you now have to file a product enhancement that asks for UDF annotations to "stay in place"

But it makes me curious - isn't it a given that a lot of time is spent on detailing and manipulating the dimension placements to make the drawing readable?

Sure would be nice to only do things once.  MDB "combined states" don't transfer onto the traditional drawing in the smoothest way, and in my experience, touch up is always required...

I will follow up with tech support on this when I get some time. I will post any updates as they come in. It would be nice to have MBD support within the UDF functionality. I would need to consider how to best implement this. I am not a subject matter expert on MBD. If anyone has thoughts on how UDFs should function in a MBD context for models or drawings, please post them here.
