Boundary Blend

ProE users,

I need some help with boundary blend. Is it possible to blend 2 or more
datum curves a distance apart?
Example, a circle and a square 1 inch apart.

Hi Brad,
The short answer to the first part of your query is yes. Select both curves (using Ctrl) and pick the Boundary Blend tool. You will see a surface between the two curves. You can add curves in the second direction to complete the boundary of the surface.

For your example there are problems:
You can just pick the two curves as above and by dragging the start point on the square you can get the the surface to appear. It will show with four "sides" joining on to the circle and when you spin it around you will probably not like the shape of the surface. To fix this you really need the circle to be in the same number of segments as for the square. In reality this type of requirement is normally what you use the standard Blend tool for (as opposed to Boundary Blend) but also for that tool you also need to have the same number of segments in each section.
