I use a Logitech MX Master mouse with CP4. I started a new drawing yesterday where I'm creating draft dimensions. Middle mouse to place or complete Edit Attachment isn't working. It's behaving like a command cancel function.
I am a bit rusty on drawings, but we've been on CP4 for 2+ years (and Creo/ProE a lot longer). Most of my work tends to be in part/assembly mode. And most of the time we use model instead of draft dimensions on the drawing. I've created draft dimensions before and I don't remember this being an issue.
Work-around is to tap the middle button on the track-pad on my keyboard. But that is kind of tedious and non-intuitive to have to use that for the one operation that doesn't work with the mouse.
Funny thing - the middle mouse works everywhere else. Inside part / assembly mode, you can click the middle button to confirm Done, spin/pan/zoom work with the Ctrl- and Alt- keys. Wheel to zoom works. Basically, I don't think there's anything wrong with the mouse or driver.
Check the hardware. Can you borrow another MXM mouse to test? I use a Logitech G700s and MX performance on Creo 4 without this issue. The switches on these are known to fail with heavy use. One of the failure modes is that the switch is intermittent or makes multiple actuations with a single user "click".
Thanks. The explanation makes sense. Hard to prove.
We don't have another of that model to test.
Like I said, middle button on the touchpad works.
I have a Logitech M525. Middle-button-to-place doesn't work (but doesn't cancel the command, either). Now Windows 10 wants me to re-boot to complete the setup. Inconclusive, really, until I can complete the re-boot and re-test.
This is from an old post, but didn't know if this would help:
