Comprehensive Project Filename Editor...

We need an easier way to manage filenames.  The problem is that it is way to easy to loose data in the rename procedure and during project revisions.

If we could manipulate the filenames through a product structure interface, managing revisions when they involve file names could be simplified significantly.

Furthermore, the chances of a crash during the process is greatly reduced.

This is a quick example of the interface.  Obviously there is some background elements here to deal with family table and duplication capture but the interface should be -very- simple to the user.

Options will include rename in session and rename on disk.  You would also need to have the ability to assign drawings if they are not automatically recognized.  This can be done by simply opening these drawings in session so the routing would recognize their "where used" status without having to search the entire design space.

I am certain this requires additional input but in general, this type of tool is highly overdue.  In general, this is the next evolution of the save-as dialog with less restrictions on drawing file names.

For completeness, this interface should also optionally list customer specific parameters so they too can be updated at the same time.
