Copy geometry and merge feature

Hello everybody,

what is the difference of copy geom and mergein Creo Parametric? Both are techniques to share data. With the copy geom I can get data from one model to another model. For example the body surface, Then I can solidify this surface and I have the same result when using merge.

Thanks for your help.

This is an incomplete but simple distinction between the two features.

Copy geometry selectively shares designated geometry/feature information between models. Merge function propagates the entire model geometry in one feature.

Use merge function if you want to bring the entire parent model geometry to a derivative model.
