Create rip relief in mitered corners so it can be flattened.

Hello community,

Am looking to see if possible to create a flat pattern of a model with rips defined in the mitered corners of flange walls around miter cuts as shown

The above is being created by manually modifying the drawing to achieve the required result from the following

Is this possible using features within Sheetmetal mode? Have attached a sample model from Creo2 to represent this.

Thanks in advance

Not being able to reliably manage the bend reliefs is one of the most annoying things about the sheetmetal module. Have you tried making the part solid and converting it? It seems to manage conversions better than fully developed with sheetmetal.

It's funny but it will do a v-notch into a flat plane with no trouble, but getting it to do this into a bend radius, not a chance!

I know that when I try modifying a bend relief in the flat and try to re-bend, it fails completely. Have you tried asking PTC support on how they would recommend achieving your requirement?

Please vote on this idea...

Sheetmetal - true "min bend relief" feature
