Create waves at leading edge of aerofoil

Hello,

I am trying to model something similar to the pictures attached where it is an aerofoil with these "waves" (tubercles) at the leading edge. I have tried a lot of options but have not succeeded yet. Any help is appreciated.

Thanksfoil tubercles.png

Hi Jad,

You could create a datum plane tangent to the top surface and then create a sketch of the desired section.  Then project the sketch onto the surface and then use the projected sketch as a reference to remove the material.

Thanks,

Amit

Thanks for the quick reply,

I tried that but it makes the front of the waves "flat"if you know what I mean. I need something more smooth like this:

Variable section sweep will do what you need; but, you need to read up on this feature - there are a ton of options available that give you control over the generated geometry:

General sketched-spline shown to control the scalloping.  This can of course be a curve driven by a sinusoidal equation if you need regular peaks.

Also note that by itself, the sweep feature can generate tangency type of continuity.

If you need C2 continuity, then a boundary blend will be required to patch the scalloped front edge section with the rest of the wing body.
