Weird!
I recently sent a part file created in Creo 4 to a customer who uses Creo 3 (M110) and he was unable to open the file.
The error "unable to open file"
Anyone come across this?
Have not heard that Creo4 is special in this regard, but I could be wrong...
Historically, Pro/E-Creo has only been forward compatible, not backward compatible. (Creo4 CAN open Creo3 files, but Creo3 CAN NOT open Creo4 files)
Seems like a normal error to me.
Good Luck

There's a way to make Creo files appear as read only when being opened in older versions but it doesn't look like it supports Creo 4 yet (Creo 4 is at it's first build code (F000) which should not be used in a production environment yet). It may just be easier to share STEP or IGES files if you want to keep using Creo 4.
