Hi All,
I'd like to create a pipe table template to show same info as the table below for any piping assembly.
It has to be valid for both bent and straight pipes.
How repeat region settings should be set to get this outcome please?
Also, is it possible to replace the index_rpt parameter (Item column) with a component parameter 'linenumber' to show the number based on an existing BOM?
Many thanks in advance for your help!
Hi @Bearanto
You need to create table template and I assume you need to create a .tbl file to output the table as shown in the picture you attached.
I have not looked to the report parameters into details but this topic might offer good ressources : https://community.ptc.com/t5/3D-Part-Assembly-Design/Bending-table-with-Part-Co-ordinate-system/m-p/276045
This reply is attached with a tbl file that you can derive from : https://community.ptc.com/t5/3D-Part-Assembly-Design/Bending-table-with-Part-Co-ordinate-system/m-p/276048/highlight/true#M109246
Hi @remy ,
Thanks for your reply, I went already through the resources you mentioned and PTC support, but now I'm looking for a solid example on how to create that very specific table I attached with all the related repeat region settings to achieve that result, and if it is possible to replace the index_rpt number with component parameter 'linenumber' to carry over existing BOM references.
Many thanks!
Understood.
Amongst all the tbl examples, did you find any that's close enough to what you are looking for ?
Then maybe edit it to fit your need ?
Hi @remy ,
Apologies for the late reply, was waiting to get the job done first to explain better,
So the outcome I needed to achieve is a table as shown in the picture for multiple pipes in the same assembly. The shown table is the result of a really tedious and lengthy work starting from a table with 2 repeat regions (blue and green in the pic), then fixing the item column to match the line number of the solid pipe in the BOM (because can't figure out how to relate that component parameter to the pipe segment), filtering both regions to show just one pipe with its related bend info, and copying/paste and stacking the table as many times as the number of pipes in the assembly. In fact, the shown table is not just a single table but multiple tables piled up.
In conclusion a nightmare, but I got there eventually. To note that in a new assembly I could avoid at least the hassle to fix the index parameter as I could start with 1 for the pipes and number the fittings thereafter in a new BOM, but looking for a solution that applies to both new and existing assemblies.
Therefore, I ask here what is the smartest way to achieve that in the most automated way (through relations, rules, parameters, and so on), so to turn a nightmare in a fairly easy and quick job? The final aim would be to then create a table template that I can reuse on other piping assemblies.
Thanks in advance for any help!
