Creo View Error "This computer must be connected to the network"

When I try to view *.pdf.pvz files (downloaded from a Windchill PLM server) using Creo View Express 3.1, I get the following error:

"This computer must be connected to the network"

"Connect this computer to the network and then try opening the document again."

Here is my computer information:

  • The computer is connected to the network.
  • Xeon CPU, 8GB RAM, plenty of disk space.
  • Windows 8.1 Industry Pro (Like Windows 8.1, but clean, without the advertising software)
  • Fresh download and install of Creo View Express 3.1 (32 bit) (today Nov 17, 2016)
  • Adobe Reader XI, 11.0.18
  • Also, Internet Explorer 11.0.96, with update 37

I also tried a Windows 7 Pro PC with the same Creo View Express 3.1 (32 bit)

This is a show stopper, so any help to resolve this issue would be appreciated.

Thank you

AJ

So you are using Creo View Express instead of Creo View Lite (Standard, MCAD, ECAD) to communicate with a Windchill PLM system?  (Also, just to clarity, is the file actually a PDF or PVZ?)

They are .pdf.pvz files.  I think that means the PDFs are embedded in the PVZ container files.
