Hello,
I'm using Creo v 11 and it is continuously crashing when I try to open a Solidworks part file. I get no error message or notification, it just closes the program after loading for a bit. Has anyone else had this issue or have an idea of why this might be happening?
Side note I cannot share the file as it is proprietary.
Do you have access to other CAD software to try in them? Can you get the file as an exported file type, such as STEP?
Honestly, I have better luck importing files in to solidworks or inventor than in Creo, granted I am on an Creo 6.
You may also want to verify that the version of the solidworks (such as 2023 or 2024 versions) file is supported for import in creo 11. Or if the solidworks file is very old, that also may be a problem.
Check the compatibility chart. Creo 11.0.0 can import SW 2004 -2023.
I had a similar import issue with Inventor assembly, ended up the components weren't using the same units. But here it sounds like what Ben's checking incompatibility, Creo may be newer than the SolidWorks file. Will importing as SolidWorks be feature based or like a step if it imported correctly?
