Custom Mapkey button in Quick Access Toolbar reverts to the default smiley face button

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 6.0 (connected) Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.6.0

1. I am using the config.win and creo_parametric_customization.ui, where the mapkey applied icon is stored, in the starting location.

2. If delete Config.win, the icons will be changed to smiley icons.

3. Please tell me how to not change the existing icon to a smiley icon even if I use only creo_parametric_customization.ui without config.win.

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 6.0 (connected) Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.6.0

1. 맵키가 적용된 아이콘이 저장된 config.win과 creo_parametric_customization.ui 를 시작위치에 같이 넣고 사용하고 있습니다.
2. Config.win을 삭제하면 아이콘들이 스마일 아이콘으로 변경됩니다.
3. config.win이 없이 creo_parametric_customization.ui 만 사용해도 기존 아이콘이 스마일 아이콘으로 변경안되는 방법을 부탁드립니다.

Most likely cause:  Your creo_parametric_customization.ui does not have the icon definitions in the file.  Migration of config.win settings to the new .ui file is probably not supported so you will have to do this manually.

Assuming your old conifg.win file assigns the icons you want then you will need to load the config.win and then copy the icons into the creo_parametric_customization.ui file.

Use a Creo release (Creo 5 or earlier ?) that allows for both conifg.win and creo_parametric_customization.ui to be loaded. Once you load the config.win and verify the icons are assigned then you will need to copy the icons to the creo_parametric_customization.ui file.

You can do this by following this process:

    • From Creo Parametric select File > Options > Customize Ribbon
  • To create or modify an icon:
    • Select the command to be modified in the Customize the Ribbon pane (right side)
    • Select Modify > Edit Button Image from the commands at the bottom of the pane to edit an existing icon
    • Since all commands without a specific icon initially have the default icon, new icons are generated by editing the original icon
  • To use an existing icon:
    • If the icon is used for another command inside the UI, select the command as before, use Modify > Choose Button Image, then pick icon from the table that opens
    • alternatively copy paste icons via clipboard:
      • select icon/command in the Customize the Ribbon pane and Modify > Copy Button Image
      • or hover over the desired icon/button anywhere in the UI and in the RMB menu choose Copy Button Image
      • select the target command in the Customize the Ribbon pane and Modify > Paste Button Image
    • If the icon exists outside the session, copy it to the system clipboard (e.g. select image and ctrl+C to copy), then paste as before
      • Note: Only pastes 16x16 pixel portion of the copied image
  • To export an icon:
    • There is no direct or specific functionality to export icons from one session or environment to another (e.g. save/retrieve or export/import)
    • Use the system clipboard to copy icons, as documented for using an existing icon
    • From there it can be paste into any application that supports the clipboard (e.g. Paint)
  • To save the configuration for reuse (with other users and installations):
  1. From Customize the Ribbon dialog click Import/Export > Export all Ribbon and Quick Access Toolbar customization
  2. Save the creo_parametric_customization.ui file under %APPDATA%\PTC\ProENGINEER\Wildfire\.wf\.Settings\creo_parametric_customization.ui

The .win file to configure the User Interface with Creo has been discontinued and you need a solution to keep show custom icons for your mapkeys.
When searching the knowledge base with the following keywords: mapkey icon .ui, you will find the article below.

https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/cs28612

Can you confirm you applied it? and confirm that despite that the icon reverts to the smiley?
