Custom repeat region symbol heck

Hi Folks,

WF4.

I can not figure out how to create a correctly functioning custom BOM
quantity balloon symbol, I sincerely hope it is possible!

I want the top to be the index and the bottom to be driven by a repeat
region relation.

The attached symbol does not work right, it only displays \index\ on the
top and although it displays the relation quantity on the bottom, it
does not change that quantity when I Split the balloon.

I need to control the quantity because I have some parts that can be
assembled in a few places and I have to show them multiple times, yet
the quantity has to reflect the quantity I am shipping.

Any ideas? I'm way late on this drawing and these balloons are the last
obstacle.

Thanks much!

Regards,

Walt Weiss

OK, I waded through 45 minutes of fiddling, with tech support, what I
want apparently can not be done.

Once you use a repeat relation quantity, even though you can define the
attributes of the balloon as text, integer or floating point, ProE
treats the quantity as text and can not change the quantity when you
split the balloon.

I will file an enhancement request when things cool down (what do you
think the chances are?...)

For my situation with parts shown in multiple locations but only single
location quantities, the suggested workaround is to create dummy parts
with different names, most "conveniently" via family table, and replace
the duplicated parts and then filter by item so they don't get balloons.

Oh well...

A work around, while you get old waiting for your enhancement, could be to
change to a standard balloon with quantity symbol during the split and
then switch back to your custom symbol when done.
