Design of Ski Goggles - Use Manikin Or?

I've been tasked with designing a pair of ski googles. I know that PTC offers manikin. Is it applicable for designing something such as a ski goggle? Or, should I just search for generic head CAD models?

Appreciate any feedback or tips!

Hi Lar,

I was recently looking at modeling a similar product (quoted job) and I looked at scuba masks for "guidance" I found that most are typical shaped by a simple cylinder running up/down, so if you hold a scuba mask infront of you, say glass down, the face countour is a simple arc. Then I found a youtube video showing how dive masks are fabricated. After assembly the technician performed a leak test by placing the mask against a simple fixture that applied vacuum. The fixture was a simple cylinder (with a flat bottom to sit on the bench). Based on that, I could photograph a mask from the same angle (place it on a table and shoot horizontal so that the face contour looks like an arc) and import the jpg. Scaled it and gofrom there. Hope you find that helpful
