There is a new configuration option and changed default functionality for Creo 6 related to perspective view zooming.
The new option is perspective_zoom with an option of either eye_distance * or image_zoom.
Setting perspective_zoom to image_zoom will act like prior versions of Creo.
The default eye_distance now moves the eye distance when zooming with a wheel mouse.
Previously the eye point did not move, rather the image was zoomed with the mouse wheel.
Keeping the default of eye_distance allows both zooming with the normal zoom icons/commands and changing eye distance with the mouse wheel.
I use a perspective view with the eye point in a specific location along with the advanced rendering option to show realistic fields of view and optical artifacts from a model with specific index of refraction and reflection properties. (some combination of lenses, mirrors, housings)
The position of the eye point was found to be unexpectedly moving during view setup and lead me to the discovery of this new option.
