Enterprise PDM

Sorry in advance if this is the wrong forum.

Currently we are using Product Point as a PDM Solution for Pro/E Wildfire
4.0, but are seriously thinking about abandoning it due to
functionality/stability reasons. I have asked our PTC Rep (whom we are
happy with) about the costs to upgrade to Newest Product Point and
Intralink. but I seriously doubt that we will head down either path. It
seems too costly and the support from PTC is terrible when you have problems
(not IF but WHEN).

Has anyone had any experience using SolidWorks Enterprise PDM to manage
Pro/E files? I would be like to hear positives/negatives. The Salesman is
going to be bringing a demo out, but I would like to hear some real accounts
of this before he comes out. Of course he is telling us great things. I'm
just trying to do a little homework.

Thanks

No experience with this particular PDM product - but, my opinion is you should be *very* cautious about entrusting your CAD file management functionality to software made by anyone other than the CAD Vendor... 🙂

This is particulary true of PTC products, as the nature and depth of file inter-relationships can be very complex, depending upon how you use the product.
