Excluding Component from Assembly Cross Section

I am trying to create an assembly cross section but would like to exclude one of the components from the cross section cut. Is this possible? This is not in drawing mode, I would like to do it in the modeling space and snap a picture of it for a customer. Thank you Dustin B.

you should be able to hide the component you dont want to see. select in model tree > right click then hide.

Dustin, I'm guessing that you want to see the non-sectioned part, in which case Hiding won't help you. Do you need to see the hatching? If not, you can do an assembly cut that will do what you want. Sketch a line on an appropriate plane and extrude it through your model, with the icon set to Solid as opposed to Surface. This will cut away all of the assembly on one side of the extruded sheet. But before you finish the feature click the Intersect tab in the Dashboard, uncheck Automatic Update, pick the part you want left out of the section, RMB, Remove. This should do the trick. David

Thanks David, that is exactly what I was looking to do.
