Dear all,
We are using color coding in our company. And for defining different areas of insert i am using flexible offset with 0.00 offset and attach offset geometry. Creo 3 it was working fine i.e.; I will use flexible offset and use intent surface filter and color the feature.
but in Creo 7, flexible offset will use the base geometry color to color the feature. (still, I can color it, but it will go back original when regenerate). is there any way I can avoid the colour change when regenerating or any other alternative method.
Any help will be appreciated.
Creo 7.0.9
When creating the flexible offset select body surfaces. The selection is available in the pick from list option as shown here.
When using this reference for the offset it should maintain the color assignments. Try this and report back if it does not fix the issue. If it does not, then it would be helpful to upload an example file with the issue.
Using this method works on this test model in Creo 7.0.9
First of all, thank you for trying.
But this is not working.
Let me explain the workflow as below.
1. insert the reference part in manufacturing mode.
2. split the core & cavity
3. make split insert from core
4. add flexible offset in split insert to add the color core (yellow color)
(it will segregate the matching area color as blue and fitting area as yellow)
I have some specific reasons why I am using tangent surface filter for flexible offset. That is, it will auto select the fitting areas completely because the corners will be rounded. (No need to select surface on by one)
Now let see the problem here.
1. if there is a product change it will regenerate the whole cycle and this will change the color of fitting area (yellow) to the original color (blue). I am looking for a solution to avoid this. Hope this helps to find a solution. Thanks in advance.
