Grey Creo assemblies are always displayed deep black in Creo View

Hi forum,

in our company, assemblies seem to be created in Creo in a medium grey shade by some default Creo setting. With this grey color, contours and lines in Creo can be easily recognized even if, for example, "Shaded with Edges" is selected in "Render Mode.

In Creo View, however, these default medium grey parts are always shown completely black, and any surface details are hardly recognizable. If render mode is set to "Shaded with Edges" in Creo View, even the edges are not visible at all, since both surfaces and edges are just black.

What is the reason for this differing appearance between Creo and Creo View, and what can we do solve the issue -- that is, how can we ensure that the standard Creo gray is not shown as black in Creo View, but in gray as intended?

  1. Assign something other than the default color to your models in Creo Parametric.
  2. Change the default color in Creo View to something other than black.

Thanks Tom!

That instantly worked, just by doing #2 of your solution!

Thank you again 👍

I have this problem again, but this time the affected parts are green in CreoView MCAD 6.1 (and are definitely assigned with green color in the Part Properties).

In CreoView Lite 6.1 however, the same parts appear completely black.

Thanks for any ideas how this could be resolved.

Edit: Strangely, after changing an arbitrary part's color in CreoView MCAD, all other parts appear with their correct color again in CreoView Lite.
