Hole Threads In Family Tables

Hole Threads In Family Tables

Is there a way to control a "standard" hole, inch or metric within a family table? The dimensions for the hole and the thread are read only so they can't be added to the table. Is the best or only method to do this is to use 2 features a hole and a cosmetic thread?

TIA

I have this option set but this one only allows you to modify it with the dashboard. When you select the dimensions on the screen they are still read only.

Any suggestions are welcome. I can’t be the only one that has tried this.

Thanks

I don't believe this is possible.

The dimensions for threads found in standard holes (those created using the hole tool) are stored in files buried in the load point folders. With the dimensionsretrievedfrom an external file, I'm guessing that is causing them to become read-only, restricting them from being used ina family table.

Check in ../text/hole for a bunch of *.hol files. Wordpad will open these files, but notepad has issues with them. Other text programs should have no problem, such as ultraedit, crimson, etc.

Good afternoon:

We have a few legacy parts whose tapped holes are showing four significant
digits instead of three on the tap diameter, and when we try to modify the
number of digits in the Dimension Properties box, a regen puts it back to
four digits. Model Info says it's using the correct hole table, but the hole
table lists the dimension rounded to three digits (.107 as opposed to
.1065).

I'm thinking these parts were made with an outdated hole table that has
since been altered, but am not that familiar with how Pro uses the hole
tables. Does anyone know of a way to force the part to use the values in our
current hole table?
