Hi everyone,
It must be an answer for this one, but can't find it...
Upon finishing a feature modification in a pattern, I was to modify other features before clicking regenerate, however, CREO started to regenerate everything immediately, except for the features that have been set as read-only ahead of the pattern. There are 12 patterns in the model tree, I need make simple modification (i.e., change the number of member) to all of them. After each change of the number of member in a pattern, CREO takes two minute+ to regenerate. 12 patterns means half a hour for regeneration! It must be an option to set to avoid the automatic regeneration.
I am using CREO 6 in offline mode.
Thx,
JS
BTW, to generate a 48 x 116 pattern of simple cutouts in a flat plate, CREO spent at least 8 hours (from Friday morning to next Monday morning) to finish it on my computer with 128GB installed RAM.
Not sure, but try using this config.pro option:
enable_auto_regen no
I also typically have this option active:
dynamic_preview no
And for slow regeneration of patterns, look into geometry patterns (or review the youtube video "turbo patterns pro/e" for work-arounds for this issue)
Try setting dynamic preview to no preview. This may resolve the immediate regen you are describing but I am not certain without seeing the model in action.
There are functions to improve large pattern performance. Are you using the geometry pattern option in this model for all 12 patterns? Are the pattern members identical? If so use that pattern option as well where applicable.
I would not expect RAM to influence regen time in this scenario unless you were running out of RAM and using virtual RAM on a disc.
I would need to understand the nature of the pattern to give specifics. If you can provide examples of what you are patterning that would be useful.
To accelerate your pattern regeneration, In the pattern Feature the option "Identical" help a lot to reduce the regeneration time.
For some of my pattern, it cut the regen from 10-15 minute to less that a minute.
