Maybe someone knows how to make engraving on cylindrical surface in assembly mode in Creo Parametric?
This article (CS25807) describes how to make engraving in a part.
I can't find information how to do this in assembly mode.
In our production, quite often there is a situation when it is necessary to do engraving at the assembly stage.
At the moment we do this using the Projection tool.
I would avoid doing this. Just because the assembly is engraved during production is not a compelling reason to create an assembly feature in Creo to represent the markings. Why do you want to do this is in assembly mode?
In assembly mode you are not able to add mass so raised text which would add mass is not possible. You can remove material (cuts, holes etc.) in assembly mode but I am not sure the offset feature is supported in assembly mode because it can add or remove material.
One method that should work is to build the text as surfaces and use them to make a cut. You could try building closed quilts for the engraved characters and using them to create a cut to get the engraving all in assembly mode.
You can make the raised feature in the part mode, suppress it and then make the part flexible in the assembly and unsuppress it.
As mentioned you can suppress and unsuppressed as needed. This is for .prt. and it is quite descriptive is you need it:
