Read only setting means that the model is ignored during any regeneration sequence. As I said above this is a starting point to restructure your data scheme, so you do not have to retrieve huge models to do design work. Structure your CAD assemblies such that you do not need to retrieve large amounts of data that make the computer too slow for productivity.

Thank you. Now i know how to make a model readonly but what is the benefit?. It still has the same size of model, heavy and sluggish. We have stp or SWrap that do 10x better than read only. Still trying to understand the right purpose of having read only option in 3D modeling feature.
