You are unsatisfied by how Creo behaves when you have to kill it. I'm sorry about it.

In order to clarify your request can you describe in more details the nuisance you experience?

Thanks to your clarifications, we'll be able to make suggestions.

If you are asking how to shut down Creo Parametric using the OS then you need to kill a process named "xtop.exe" . Sometimes this is necessary if Creo becomes unresponsive.

This assumes that Creo is running locally on your machine. If you are running it over a network the process is likely different.

I believe the reported scenario is Creo Parametric is non responsive for a long time and the user would like to terminate the process from Windows Task manager using 'End Task'. However, was not able to do so and error "Some background operations are running". User needs help with terminating the xtop.exe process from windows task manager.

While Creo is still performing background transactions with Windchill server, it is not recommended to terminate the process and doing so might cause corruption of the local cache. User may attempt to kill xtop.exe process only If it is acceptable for the user if the local cache becomes non usable. Using End Task may not work in such case. Use the RMB option 'End process tree' on genlwsc.exe from Details tab of task manager first and then on xtop.exe would close Creo process as expected.
