Ilink 3.4 on Windows 7 Performance

I have been hearing more and more about people running Intralink 3.4 on Windows 7. We may actually be forced into doing the same thing. It seems that many people have been able to successfully run Intralink 3.4 on Windows 7 with a few modifications to JRE or batch files etc. What is the performance of Intralink and Wildfire on the new systems with WIndows 7? Is it even worth upgrading to a new computer if you have to run in compatibility mode or modifiying the batch files to get it to work? Is there anything we could do to the new computers that would allow us to run faster in this scenario?

If you are currently running this setup I would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks in advance.

I guess we're just lucky, as we haven't had any issues at all with Intralink 3.4 M070 + WF4 M100 on Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit. We haven't had to modify any files, or do anything special. We don't have to run anything in compatibility mode either; we just install it and it works.

The only problem we've had is that our plotters (Xerox 8830) are somewhat dated, and there's no driver support for Windows 7. We were able to get around this by sharing the plotter on an XP machine, and configuring the plot manager such that it sends the plot files to this shared plotter.

As for performance, our users have been fine with Windows 7 using below average machines (2-3ghz dual core, ~3.5GB ram, nvidia fx570).

Intralink 3.4 M050-->M062 uses embedded JRE version 1.4.2_15. 3.4 M070 uses 1.6.0_07. M070 was not available to customers who opted not to purchase extended maintenance. Swapping out the JRE in M062 essentially gets you the W7 compatibility found in M070.
