I am using Creo Parametric Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.5.1

Import image on sketch in order to copy a new profile ( sketch) and create a new geometry

You want to use the trace sketch function. It is now in the view tab, see below. This will allow for the import, scaling, and alignment of images for reference in a part.
