Is there NOT an easy way to get the projected area of an ASM onto a datum plane?

Like one can do so EASILY for PRTs, by picking the PLANE and PRT submodel(s) reference(s) in the CREO v2.0 model tree?

Picking individual parts in a larger ASM, especially when there may be overlapping PRTs, and totalling the projected areas up will greatly overestimate the actual projected area. USE CASE might be when calculating the wind load on a structure, which is based on the maximum flow frontal area times the Wind pressure calculated by a standard formula in civil engineering applications, like substation structures...

If not, would a PTC developer please add this capability. Crazy weird that no one else has ever run into this problem before?!

You could create a shrink wrap part based on the assembly and use the part projection process on that.
