Can I model a shaft with an applied torque along its axis in 2D Axisymmetric?
From the help:
"You can define loads, constraints, and other model attributes in three degrees of freedom for a 2D axisymmetric model:
translation in X and Y (or the cylindrical and spherical equivalents)
rotation in Z (or the cylindrical and spherical equivalent)"
where the model is created in the XY plane, and revolved about the X=0 line (i.e., the Y axis)
so it looks like the answer is "no" as I'd want either a moment in Y, or a (tangential) force in Z.
Any pointers? It seems 2D Axisymmetric is very limited if it can't model shafts!

You are correct, the answer is no. You can not apply a torque about the axis of a 2D axiysmmetric model.
