Merge part

I have a merge part that will not update from the base part. Base part we call Cast part and one with merge part is machined part.
Currently the machine part with merge has the merge tap feature option at Manual update but when its changed to Automatic update the whole merge part lose its reference and disappear from screen. help!

You have not provided enough information to solve the problem. It would be helpful to use the global reference viewer to show the full path of the failed external reference. You can upload a screenshot of the dependency network diagram for other to review. This will begin to define the nature of the failure and allow other to help you resolve the issue.
