Model Datum Feature Leader

When I show annotation for a view to display the MODEL DATUM in a view it appears, I can drag it up or down vertically in the view but, I cant shorten this ridiculously long leader.

I have had this issue on many drawings.

The datum is attached and along plane on the model.

If you use these techniques are you able to manipulate the leader?

Does this happen with all drawing created from a common template? how about a drawing created with a shipped template?

Found out something today.

SHIFT --> PICK the datum and you can do anything with the leader or position of the datum feature in your views.
