The issue is mapkeys run in Creo 7+ are causing flashing windows to appear and this is new relative to running the same mapkeys in Creo 4 where no windows are appearing. If you have seen this same behavior, please reply here so I can comply with PTC support request to prove that other users replicate the issue. See the video for an example of the flashing windows.
PTC support has asked me to inquire here about an open issue with mapkeys in Creo 7+ causing flashing windows to appear. The request from PTC support is shown below.
Could you check in user community, if other users are also facing this issue? This will help us to go back to R&D and say that this is affecting all such mapkeys and in a large number for most of the users and so can be pushed for a fix. They have clearly mentioned that if this happens for all such mapkeys and in large numbers, they may look into it however looks like I didn’t find any other such issues reported.

I have had some response from users in the Creo Ideas forum here:
Creo has been doing this for as long as I can remember. I'm not aware of any way to eliminate it.
Refer to this much longer video for clarification of the issue which I can reproduce using many different mapkeys. No flashing windows are visible in Creo 4 but running the same mapkey in Creo 7 causes visible windows.
I created a case with PTC for this same issue but they referred me to the description of the setting “Mapkeys will run without displaying picks being made in the Menu Manager menus. This does not affect the display of picks being made in menu bar menus or dialog boxes.”
Here’s the functionality I observe for visible_mapkeys no:
Thanks to @lhoogeveen for providing supporting information on this issue and to those that have voted for the product idea. I have gotten a response from support that there is intent to address the issue in Creo 9.
R&D has agreed to have this task for Creo 9.0 and it can be backported to previous releases if there are no major issues observed on other functionalities because of it.
Way to go in getting this issue moving forward, and providing an example of how to get PTC to listen to its users!
