New Parameter Added

Anyone know why I get these warnings when I open assembly? It's not a one time occurrence.

If you have access to the PTC Knowledge Base, please search for article CS21545.

Cause:

These messages occur during regeneration of a bulk component if difference is discovered between bulk template and bulk component

Resolution:

  • Upon saving the assembly subsequent retrievals will not show these messages or related performance issue
  • The four warning messages that may be logged are as follows:
Message Description
New parameter <parameter-name> was added from template <bulk-item-name> There is new parameter <parameter-name> in bulk template <bulk-item-name> that was not present during previous regeneration
Driven by template <bulk-item-name> parameter <parameter-name> become user defined The parameter <parameter-name> disappeared from template <bulk-item-name>. Parameter <parameter-name> is left on bulk component but it's value no longer controlled by bulk mechanism
User defined parameter <parameter-name> become driven by template <bulk-item-name> Similar to first message but the  parameter with same name already present in bulk component, with it's value now now controlled by bulk
Type of parameter <parameter-name> was updated from template <bulk-item-name> Type of parameter <parameter-name> in template <bulk-item-name> have changed since last regeneration. It was propagated to bulk component parameter.

Amit,

Looking complicated. I shall relay this info to those who may have concern.

Thanks,

Wayne
