Options tab in surface copy command does not work

Options tab in surface copy command does not work

Hello everybody,

I am trying to copy a surface and fill in a hole. when I select my surface and select copy and paste it brings me into the surface copy command. there is 3 tabs at the bottom of the ribbon bar, References, Options, and Properties. References and Properties tab open up when I select them but the Options tab does not. The text turns black when I select it but the drop down window does not show up.

Any ideas? I am using Creo 3.0 M030.

I tried the mapkey and it did not work. So I removed M030 and installed M010 and it work! so I reinstalled M030 and now it works. I talked with Customer service and they think it was a graphic card issue.

Not sure I am convinced, I haven't updated my graphics card since last year.

Is it possible that the drop down window became detached from the toolbar? If so, is there a way to locate it?

on my PC, I can open all three tabs without problems.

Try to add the following option at the end of your config.pro file temporarily.

graphics win32_gdi

This option turns OPENGL graphics off. Then you can test Creo functionality. If the problem disappears, then you have to update drivers of your graphic card.

you can:

  • test the functionality in simple model (containing one Extrude feature)
  • upload your model (if it is possible)
  • deinstall/install Creo 3.0

I made a cube and the copy command still will not give me the options pull down menu. I will try reinstalling the program.

I reloaded creo and it is still doing the same thing.

My coworker has almost a match on everything and has no issues.

I reloaded M010 and it works the way it should. Not sure what to think?

Adam,

For a quick test create a block with a hole feature and run attached mapkey (Keyword is p). This mapkey is to select the surface > Copy > Paste > Options > Exclude ..... This may give us an idea whether is there something on your machine which is not blocking the expansion of tab.
