Part mirrored to create new part, how to edit?

I'm trying to edit a part created by someone else. The part is a mirrored version of an original which contains the feature tree. The newermirrored part shows no worthwhile feature tree. I can access the original part by selecting the lone mirrored feature in the newer part and "Open Base". I see and can edit the feature tree of the original part.

Is there a way to push this change through to the already mirrored part? Or would I need to created a brand new mirrored part to show this change? There is already a drawing associated with mirrored part.

If you edit the parent part, and open the mirror part after you make changes, it should regenerate and publish those changes down to the mirror, as long as it was mirrored from the part itself and not mirrored within an assembly.

Michael,

Kris may have found the key to why it's not behaving correctly for you:
"long as it was mirrored from the part itself and not mirrored within an
assembly." Do you have the assembly the part was created in?

Hey guys,

Thanks for checking into this. I found my problem. As mirroring an existingpart to create a new one is not a tool I have used before I didn't make sure that the dependency option was checked onthe newer part, thus the changes were not being pushed through.

Thanks again.
