R1/8 Threaded Hole

R1/8 Threaded Hole

I'm trying to create an R1/8 threaded hole as a mate to the component in the picture. The component is an R1/8 to 12mm push fit adapter. I tried to create a thread using the helix sweep feature but was unsuccessful. if someone could point me in the right direction, it would be very much appreciated.

Why do you need to create the thread geometry in the solid model? If it is tapped or thread milled when produced just call out the thread and model the pilot hole for the process used to create the threads. If you actually need to model the thread, then a helical sweep is the right feature to do it. An example of how it is done.

Creo 8 tutorial - Helical Sweep Thread

Is the thread you need a British Standard Pipe Thread? Creo does not come with a .hol file for BSPP threads. There is a .hol file for NPT and ISO7/1 threads so you can use that file and create the BSPP threads you need if you want to have standard holes available when modeling. Creo may have the tapered thread you need already in the hole feature. Rc 1/8 female thread is probably what you need, and it is available as a tapered hole feature.

ISO 7-1 is BSPT (R/Rp) – British Standard Tapered Pipe where

  • R - tapered male with external threads
  • Rp - cylindrical female with internal threads
  • Rc  - tapered female with internal threads

The tapered holes can be used by selecting the tapered hole icon in the hole feature UI.

There is a BSPP .hol file posted here which may have what you need.
