Recycling symbol summary
Hello folks...
Finally found time to thank those who responded with ideas and methods
and hopefully enrich the lives of some others who might be wondering...
Here is my original question:
Hello folks...
I am trying to get a recycling symbol into the 3D model of a plastic
part. As I struggle to get the size right, I am asking myself if it is
something that should simply be handled in the drawing and not on the 3D
model... 2D symbols are so much more friendly in terms of scaling.
I would like to get the thing in the 3D, but see that it could be really
challenging in terms of sketcher complexity.
Any comments / tips?
Thanks,
-Nate
These are the responses I got:
If you import a sketch (say, of your recycling symbol), you can scale it
and move it before placing it. If you start with a datum curve, it will
be easy to delete and re-import the sketch if you need to change the
size. Likewise, you can use Edit; Scale and Rotate. You can then
tweak the size of the sketch after it's placed. Once you are happy with
the size, create a protrusion using the sketch.
This is in WF3, but I think scale/rotate has been there for a while.
This works, but it makes for a heavy sketch in the extrude...
