SINGLE PART SECTION

I MISTAKENLY SET A VIEW TO SINGLE PART SECTION. HOW DO I UNDO THAT? EVERYTHING IN THAT TAB IS GRAYED OUT EXCEPT THE SURFACE SELECTION WINDOW.

same problem

I do not believe that it is possibly to change a single surface view to anything else.

if you have annotations etc. on the view then you will have to create a new view in the same orientation and move the items from the single surface view to the new one.

It's 2021 and the problem still exists (Creo 4, M120). 😠

Meanwhile, over at Dassault Systemes....

You've got to be kidding me...it's 2022 and just did the same thing, still no fix!!?!

Yuuup. Welcome to the team @AD5 .

I actually had a spat about this topic with one of PTC's YouTube content creators in the comments section of a video that he had posted which touched on this just briefly. To his credit, he made a good point that it comes down to business decisions just like for any other company. What's topics and improvements are the most important goals and highest priorities for the product, brand, company and overall forward progression of it all given time + available resources ($). I still find it sad though that this bug still persists. @AD5 , which version of Creo are you running? I'm hoping that this and MANY other things are improved or fixed in newer versions. If I had to guess too, not putting out patches on older versions for things like this and just fixing them for newer versions probably falls inline with their business strategy as well.

Sounds logical enough, but I am running a fairly new version, Creo 7 Datecode 7-0-2-0, so...

...*siiiigh. 😞

Thanks for letting me know. Now I will not have such high expectations when my employer updates to Creo 7, 8, or 9 (TBD) within the next two months.

Best of luck to you.

Same problem. The frustration is real.

One other factor that plays into what gets fixed is this. Will this enhancement bring in new sales?

Unless a bug causes Creo to crash or corrupt a part, it is very likely to get a response from development that the function works as designed.

You may want to open an enhancement request in the Creo Ideas section to see how many others feel this is a problem that PTC might consider looking at. Provide screen shots and a detailed description will add weight to the request.
