SUMMARY: tell pro/e to ignore a certain component when running mass props analysis?

So I wanted to have the mass props report for a simplified rep reported on
the drawing, even if the master rep is also on the drawing. I got this from
Matt Larsen: (emphasis added)

Lyle,

I just got off the phone with tech support and it looks like it can't be
done. You can report the mass that comes from the mass properties analysis,
but it always reports the master rep, even if the simplified rep is the
current rep in the drawing. You can go back and forth in the assembly to
show the simp rep, but not in the drawing.

A workaround came from Jonathan Hodgson. This will work for me, but not as
useful for those who need to exclude more than a few components.

You could write a relation, along the lines of:

weight_exc = pro_mp_mass - weight:123

where 123 is the component number of the one you want to exclude, and weight
is a parameter within that component equal to pro_mp_mass;

and then display weight_exc in the drawing.

(I don't know whether pro_mp_mass:123 would work directly...)

HTH,

Jonathan

Thanks to Jonathan & Matt, and all who responded
