Separate Pen Tables Used for PDF's and Plot Files?

Our company has just migrated from Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 3.0 to Creo 4.0.  We currently generate both PDF files and Creo plot files to document our drawings.  The plot files are then published to an imaging software.  Since the migration, we have tried to adjust our pen table to match the line weights that we saw in our PDF's before the migration.  However, we are finding that changing the pen table appears to affect both the PDF files and the plot files, and our "optimal" PDF settings result in less than optimal looking plot files.  We would like to use separate settings or pen tables for each, if possible.  Could anyone please advise regarding how to do so?  Thank you.

We currently have "pdf_use_pentable" set to "yes" in our global config.pro, and have a path in our config.pro file for the "pen_table_file" setting (to where our pen table resides).

Also, our PDF's are created using the "File ---> Save As ---> Save a Copy ---> (pdf)" command

You can setup printer control files for what you're calling "plot files".

In the individual printer control file, you can specify a pen table file to use that is specific to that control file.

Create your printer control file and put it into a common folder.  Use the config.pro option "pro_plot_config_dir" to point Creo Parametric to the control file.

Your PDF print will use the pen table specified via the config.pro option "pen_table_file", and your plot files will use the pen table file specified in the printer control file.
