Show annotations / Gtol in External inheritance or External merge model?

Can you show annotations / Gtol's in an External inheritance or External merge model?

Original model:

External merge model does not seem to carry the annotations along.

External inheritance model does carry the annotations along.

However, I am unable to show the annotations in the External inheritance model.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From the annotation tab in the ribbon and in the correct combo view right click on the annotation and select assign.

Ok. I assigned all my annotations to the default state. I am still unable to show them on the model.
