Slowdown of Assembly when adding bolt parts with placement interface
hi
Im using Wildfire 5 and attempting to fit a standard bolt model,(from http://www.3dmodelspace.com/ptc) into an assembly. The first few work fine but after a while (20 ish instances of the part in the model) it becomes very slow to activate the interface dialogue in the dash, does anyone have any thoughts. I may be going about the whole thing wrong,
cheers
Tim

Hi Tim.
I remember that behavior from WF4. We had the same trouble there. It was somehow connected to config-option "comp_interface_placement". With that option set to "interface_to_interface" ProE seemed to do an awful lot of calculations if several components with interface had been assembled before (limit may have been around that 20 you mentioned). Setting the option to "interface_to_geometry" solved that problem in our case.
Hope that helps
Matthias.
