Spin center with 3Dconnexion mouse

Spin center with 3Dconnexion mouse

I recently switched from Creo 4.0 to 6.0 and when that happened I can no longer find the options to change the spin center of the model. The spin center changes if I use the MMB, but if I use the 3D mouse the part always spins at the part origin. I have SPIN_CENTER_DISPLAY, SPIN_WITH_ORIENTATION_CENTER, SIM_DISPLAY_IN_SPIN, and SIM_PP_DISPLAY_SPIN_CENTER all set to "no" but the spin center never changes. How can a CAD software package not be compatible with a 3D mouse?

  1. Turn Spin Center display on.
  2. Select View > Orientation > Reorient (For Creo Parametric: View > Orientation > Named Views > Reorient)
  3. Change Type to Preferences
  4. Customize the Spin Center location

Is there a way the spin center can be changed dynamically without have to go through that menu every time I want to look at a different part? You used to be able to MMB click on a point to spin at the selected point and that would remain the spin center until you clicked somewhere else. This solution works, but is cumbersome to change when you want to look at a different part of your model.

This may be different with the 3D Connexion driver and app running in Creo. You will need to check with them to confirm. It is easy to test by disabling the Spacemouse.
