I had problems sending this the first time. If you received it twice, my apologies.
I am looking for anyone with tips on finding and removing substitute dependencies from an assembly.
The problem we have is with a 20 part assembly. When you check out the assembly, you get approx 50 parts that are required, a lot of which are substitute dependencies. The assembly is driven by a layout and initially I thought there was still a reference to an old layout but that turned out to not be the case.
-What is the definition of substitute dependency? -When do they get created? -Where can I "see" the dependencies? Parent/Child doesn't show anything unusual. -How do you get rid of them?
I have deleted some of the simplified reps and when deleting them it asks about deleting substitute assemblies. I said yes to delete them but several still exist.
Thank You Very Much!
