I have created a simple wire using the cabling application. I now wish to apply a heat load to simulate Joule Heating and a convection condition to the surface of this wire with the overall goal being to find surface temperature. However it does not allow me to apply the loads or conditions to the wire. When attempting to apply a heat load by selecting "References->Components" it comes back with the warning "The volumetric heat load has no effect on zero volume components".
Is it possible to use Simulate on a wire created in the Cabling application?
Any help would be appreciated.
