UDF changing parts

Hello

I am new here so i hope i will describe my problem good enough.

I made UDF with 2 main parts and the rest of the parts are two washers bolt and a nut. When i replace one of my main parts for unrelated compotent and go into Edit Ref Table program only ask for references that are needed for placing the part. So when i replace it my washers have faild references.

I know i can and extra references in EDIT REF TABLE but this udf will be used a lot and its annoying that you have to do all those extra steps especialy since UDFs i made like this in creo 4 is still asking for all the references it needs for placing washers.

Hope i didnt complicated it too much and i posted in right section thanks for help.

regards

To avoid this, you need to place the washers using references that will not change when replacing components in an assembly.

A skeleton model could be used (you may need to modify the skeleton based on component replacement). This in theory can be automated by using relations and parameters.

Another option is to use component interface definitions to automatically place the hardware. I would try to implement this option for your scenario. Using rules for the interface definition should be able to automate the placement of the washers etc.
